Universal Service Supply

ELPEDISON, in accordance with the Ministerial Decision ΥΠΕΝ/ΔΗΕ/633233/2187/21.06.2022 (regarding the "Appointment of Universal Supply Service Providers for Electricity"), has been appointed as a Universal Service Supplier. According to article 58 of Law 4001/2011, as in force, "The Universal Electricity Service Supplier is obliged to supply Residential Customers and small businesses (with a supply capacity of up to 25 kVA), who either have dormant about the right to freely choose a Supplier or are unable to find a Supplier in the liberalized market under the existing commercial conditions". Therefore, taking into account the provisions of article 3[1] of the Code for the Supply of Electricity to Customers (Governmental Gazette B ́ 832 / 9.4.2013), the following four categories of Universal Supply Service Customers are distinguished:

1. Residential Customer – Daily Tariff
2.  Residential Customer – Night Tariff
3.  Commercial Customer – Daily Tariff
4.  Commercial Customer – Night Tariff.

With article 138 of Law 4951/2022 (Governmental Gazette A' 129 / 04.07.2022) and for the period 01.08.2022 to 01.07.2023, the charge of the adjustment clause in all Electricity programs is suspended, thus changing all the relevant supply charges. Especially for consumers who purchase Electricity through a Universal Service Supplier, for the determination of the relevant charges (article 107 of Law 4964/2022 (Governmental Gazette A ́ 150 / 30.7.2022)), the electricity supply tariffs of the above categories, of all active suppliers are taken into account and the tariff with the highest supply charge price, expressed in euro per megawatt hour (€/MWh) ("Reference Tariff") is selected. The applicable universal service fee charges are calculated on the basis of the Reference Invoice, increased by five percent (5%), per category of customers. By decision of the Minister of Environment and Energy, a different tariff may be preferred as the Reference Tariff from the tariff with the highest supply charge price, in case the latter has a deviation of more than twenty percent (20%) from the average of the next four in order of more expensive tariffs".

The readjustment clause of supply charges may be reinstated again, in accordance with the provisions of the legislation in force.
