Due to the high sunlight levels in Greece, Net Metering with photovoltaic systems is a very efficient way of reducing energy costs and, by extension, your monthly bill. Each kW of a photovoltaic system can produce up to 1,600kWh per year, which translates into up to a 70% reduction in energy costs.
Both the energy produced by the photovoltaic system and the energy consumed by the installation are recorded by meters. When the first is greater than the second, it simply means that the producer has managed to eliminate the cost of electricity. In both competitive and regulated fees, the self-producer is a clear winner.
