ELPEDISON “Activates” a better future for Greek society and the environment
ELPEDISON presents a new Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, with the creation of the program “Ενεργοποιώ”. The main goal of this holistic program is to “embrace” every CSR action of the Company, establishing ELPEDISON’s commitment to be daily and consistently next to the Greek society, with all its energy.
The structure of the program is based on the two main pillars of the Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility strategy and specifically on the continuous and substantial support for Greek society and the environment. ELPEDISON’s main target is to implement specific actions that meet people’s needs, expecting the enhancement of local communities and vulnerable groups, giving emphasis on children and young people, while at the same time, seeking for a steady path towards sustainable development and environmental awareness.
The creation of the program is another initiative of ELPEDISON, in the context the company’s contribution, through its daily activity, in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations for 2030.
With the announcement of the new CSR program, “Ενεργοποιώ”, ELPEDISON, continues a series actions which have been implemented in recent years. More specifically, ELPEDISON, which was recently awarded for its practices in Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility with the CRI Silver Award 2019 – 2020, along with a special praise in the category Environment, was immediately mobilized during the spread of the pandemic, covering some basic needs of hospitals in Attica and Thessaloniki and donating technological equipment and consumables.
At the same time, in this difficult time for the country, the Company supported the local communities in which it operates, focusing its initiatives on vulnerable groups. Furthermore, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Religion, ELPEDISON donated 100 tablets to Primary Schools of Central Macedonia, thus supporting the Ministry’s initiative to enhance distance education.
It is worth noting that in the context of its Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, ELPEDISON undertakes on a regular basis, the support of vulnerable social groups, with different actions and synergies with authorities, institutions and NGOs, while the Company seeks the education of young and older ones, on the value of energy saving and sustainable development.
