Ioannis Zissimos

Ioannis Zissimos was born in 1950 in Platanos Nafpaktias. After completing his university studies in political sciences, he started his professional career in 1975, in the Press and Communication Office of the Greek Embassy in Rome. In 1982, he was promoted to Director with the diplomatic qualification of Press Counsellor of the Embassy.

In 1995, he moved to the private sector where he was Representative of the Compart–Montedison Group in Greece, until 2000. During that same period, he was also a Member of the Board of Directors of Heracles G.C.Co., responsible for the supervision and coordination of the communication policy and the strategic planning of the Group.

From 1998 until 2000, he was a Member of the Board of Directors of Edison S.p.A. In June 2000, he was appointed Member of the Board of Directors and General Manager of the newly founded, at that time, Edison Hellas S.A. Since 2004, he holds the position of Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Since 2009 he has been in the Board of Directors and since 2019 he is Vice Chairman of ELPEDISON S.A.. Meanwhile he has joined the Board of Directors of the hellenic-bulgarian natural gas pipeline’s asset company, ICGB AD since 2010.Since 2011, he has been in the Board of Directors of the Hellenic-Italian Chamber of Commerce of Athens.
For his activities in promoting hellenic-italian relations, the President of the Italian Republic has awarded him with the Medal of the Commander of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic and that of the Commander of the Order of the Star of Italian Solidarity.
